Doshu
Doshu is the one in charge of Aikido in the world. By bloodline the Doshu always was and is until now a member of the Ueshiba family. The 1st. Doshu was the same creator of Aikido (O'Sensei). The 2nd. Doshu was the 3rd. son of O'Sensei (Kishomaru Ueshiba). He was born in Ayabe, Kyoto Prefecture, on June 27, 1921. Morihei also trained a few students in a small dojo, known as the Ueshiba Juku, inside his home. It was here that the famous Daito-ryu teacher, Sokaku Takeda, spent several months in 1922. Morihei Sensei moved, together with his family, to Tokyo in 1927, where Kisshomaru completed much of his studies. Around 1936 he began his studies. training, playing his father's Uke, when he went to demonstrate. He practiced a little Kendo and also, Kashima Shinto-ryu, a very old style. As early as 1938, in the Budo Training Manual published by Morihei, Kisshomaru appeared in many photos of Uke.
The 3rd. and current Doshu is the grandson of O¨Sensei (Moriteru Ueshiba). Second son of Kisshomaru Ueshiba. With the passing of his father and in keeping with tradition, Moriteru Ueshiba became the new Doshu of Aikido Aikikai He graduated as an Economist from Meiji University The new Doshu was prepared to follow in the footsteps of the founder for more than 20 years years where he has been spreading Aikido very intensely. He began studying Aikido when he was 6 years old. Before assuming the current position, Moriteru Ueshiba served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aikikai and Director of the Hombu Dojo. In 1999 with the death of his father, he assumed the direction as third Doshu, world leader of Aikido.
